To mark the 85th anniversary of the birth of Sultan Sharipuly Orazaly—an outstanding figure in Kazakhstan’s spiritual and cultural life, writer, playwright, pioneer of national television journalism, and Honored Cultural Figure of the Kazakh SSR—our library hosted an inspiring and educational event.
During the program, special attention was given to Sultan Orazaly’s enduring legacy as the creator and host of legendary television programs such as Kymyzkhana, Shugyla, and Kezdesu, which became milestones in the history of Kazakh television. Participants learned about the historical significance of his interviews with prominent literary figures, including Mukhtar Auezov, Sabit Mukanov, and Gabit Musrepov. Rare archival video recordings allowed attendees to reconnect with the rich cultural heritage of the past.
The event also highlighted his public service during the early years of Kazakhstan’s independence, when he headed the Language Committee and worked tirelessly to strengthen the status of the Kazakh language. His dedication and patriotism were presented as an inspiring example for younger generations.
Accompanied by the special book exhibition titled “Master of Spiritual Heritage,” the educational program became a meaningful cultural gathering that introduced young people to the remarkable legacy and enduring values of this distinguished national figure.
