The Constitutional Law "On the State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was adopted on June 4, 2007. In accordance with this Law, June 4 is celebrated annually as the Day of State Symbols.

A sky-blue rectangular cloth featuring a golden sun with rays in the center and a soaring steppe eagle beneath it. Along the hoist, there is a vertical stripe with a national ornament. The sun, eagle, and ornament are all in gold.

The core of the emblem is the shanyrak on a blue background, with uyuks (radiating poles) spread in all directions. On the sides are mythical winged horses (pyraks). At the top is a five-pointed star, and at the bottom is the inscription "Qazaqstan."
