Rare Collection: Living Witnesses of History

The rare collection of the Turkestan Regional Children's Library named after I. Altynsarin is a spiritual bridge connecting the past and the present through unique and cherished artifacts.

Currently, the rare collection preserves 242 units of publications, electronic materials, and valuable audiovisual documents:

• In Kazakh: 33 items

• In Russian: 209 items

• Total: 138 unique titles.

Key Highlights:

1. "Children's Encyclopedia" (1914): The crown jewel of the collection. Published during the Russian Empire era, volumes I, II, and V have survived over a century, retaining their immense scientific and historical significance.

2. Gramophone Records: A treasury of 6 unique records showcasing the richness of Kazakh national art and traditional folk music.

3. The World of Filmstrips: A large collection of vintage filmstrips (129 titles), including 10 in Kazakh and 119 in Russian, representing a beloved era of children's storytelling.
