The Turkestan Regional Children's Library named after I. Altynsarin is a hub of spiritual and cultural heritage, making an immeasurable contribution to the civilized development of our nation.
1961: The library began its operations in a single small room with a collection of only 340 books and a staff of 4 employees.
1976: The library relocated to Al-Farabi Street (formerly V.I. Lenin) in Shymkent. On March 23 of that year, it was officially named after the great Kazakh educator Ybyrai Altynsarin.
2024: The library relocated from Shymkent to the regional center, the sacred city of Turkestan.
2026: In honor of its 65th anniversary, the library moved into a brand-new building, beginning a new chapter of its mission in Turkestan.
RCL serves as the primary methodological center for district, city, and rural children's libraries, ensuring that children have access to books and essential information resources.
