The purpose of the week is to widely promote the rich literary heritage of the great Kazakh poet, educator, and philosopher Abai Kunanbayuly, enrich the spiritual world of the younger generation, and foster a deeper interest in Kazakhstan's national literature.
The opening ceremony was attended by Nesipkul Utebayeva, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Gulzhan Orazgeldiyeva, Head of the Artistic Reading Club at the Turkistan City Children and Youth Center. The distinguished guests shared meaningful reflections on the significance of Abai's legacy in Kazakhstan's national spiritual heritage, emphasizing its enduring educational and cultural value.
As part of the event, a thematic book exhibition titled "The World of Abai – An Eternal Heritage" was organized, featuring the poet's poems, The Book of Words (Words of Edification), translations, and valuable scholarly works dedicated to Abai studies.
During the evening, young readers gave expressive recitations of Abai's poems and performed songs based on his works. A theatrical performance of "The Crow and the Fox," one of the fables translated by Abai, showcased the participants' creativity and artistic talent. Educational games were also organized, allowing participants to answer questions about Abai's life and literary legacy while testing and expanding their knowledge.
It is worth noting that the literary and educational week dedicated to honoring the spiritual legacy of the great poet left a lasting impression on readers and contributed to the promotion of Kazakhstan's national values.
