The purpose of the event was to promote the dombra as one of the most valuable symbols of national art, increase young people’s appreciation of national culture, and preserve the traditional musical heritage of the Kazakh people.
During the welcoming part of the event, Beissembayev Bakhytzhan Zharmakhanuly - member of the Public Council of Turkistan Region, Chairman of the Turkistan Regional Mediation Council, Head of the “Bіtіmger” Public Association of Mediators, and Honorary Citizen of Turkistan; Zamira Bazarbaykyzy - Acting Principal of School-Lyceum №28; and poet and educator Arkalyk Amaliat congratulated participants on National Dombra Day. In their speeches, they highlighted the significant role of the dombra in Kazakh spiritual culture and its importance in the upbringing of the younger generation.
As part of the festive evening, a book exhibition titled “Dombra -the Precious Heritage of Our Nation” was presented. The exhibition featured valuable materials about the history of the dombra, its role and significance in the spiritual and cultural life of the Kazakh people, as well as the development of the art of kui. The exhibition included books dedicated to national musical traditions, traditional Kazakh kui compositions, famous kui performers and composers, the art of dombra, as well as encyclopedic and educational publications. Visitors explored the exhibition, discovered new information about national heritage, and showed great interest in the valuable literature from the library collection.
During the event, library readers and performers from the “Dombra” music club of the State Municipal Enterprise “Children and Youth Center” performed Kazakh folk kuis and beautiful songs. The warm and soulful sound of the dombra created a special spiritual atmosphere and left a memorable impression on the audience.
At the end of the event, Library Director Rysbek Letaev delivered a closing speech, emphasizing the significance and importance of National Dombra Day. He also expressed gratitude to the guests, organizers, dombra club instructors, and participants for their contribution to the successful organization of the celebration and presented letters of appreciation.
