As part of the opening ceremony, special book and installation exhibitions were organized to highlight the library’s rich history and its important role in the nation’s cultural and spiritual development.
Among the exhibitions, particular attention was given to a book display dedicated to the life and works of Ybyrai Altynsarin, the prominent educator and one of the founders of Kazakh children’s literature, as well as an installation exhibition marking the library’s 65th anniversary. Visitors were introduced to the educator’s extensive literary and pedagogical heritage, rare publications, valuable books, and historical materials. In addition, photo chronicles, archival documents, achievements from different periods, and materials illustrating the library’s development over the past sixty-five years were presented to the public.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Nuralkhan Oralbayuly Kosherov, Akim of the Turkistan Region, who congratulated attendees on the commissioning of the new Children’s Library building. In his speech, the regional leader emphasized the library’s vital role in educating and nurturing the younger generation and in fostering a culture of reading. He noted that the new building would become a modern cultural and educational center supporting the comprehensive development of children.
Nuralkhan Oralbayuly also donated 100 books to the library’s Golden Collection to enrich its holdings and encourage children’s interest in reading. This generous contribution became a vivid symbol of respect for books and support for young people’s pursuit of knowledge and science.
During the ceremony, Zhenisbek Maulenkulov, Chairman of the Turkistan Regional Council of Veterans, delivered a congratulatory address. He highlighted that the library’s move to a new building represents an important milestone in the cultural and spiritual life of the region. Emphasizing the library’s role in educating and inspiring younger generations, he wished the staff continued success and readers abundant spiritual enrichment and creative achievements.
Distinguished guests then ceremonially cut the ribbon, officially opening a new chapter in the history of the Children’s Library. This memorable moment marked a significant milestone and symbolized the launch of a new building destined to become a center of knowledge and culture.
