"Altynsarin’s Legacy -the Foundation of Education" Regional Children’s Competition”

In honor of the 185th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh educator, teacher, writer, ethnographer, folklorist, and public figure Ybyray Altynsarin, it is planned to widely promote his works throughout the region.

Goals:

  • To familiarize children with the life and work of the national teacher Y. Altynsarin;
  • To encourage scholarly inquiry and the development of creative abilities;
  • To strengthen national values through the popularization of Ybyray’s heritage

City Book Discussion Project

A book discussion club for public and private schools under the Department of Education of Turkistan Region and the Turkistan City Education Department.
Discussions are held twice a month.
At each meeting, students from each school participate and discuss a pre-selected work.
At the end of the year, students take part in an intellectual game based on the works discussed throughout the year.

“Traveling Puppets” Project

Introducing the library to preschool teachers and children in the city of Turkistan, and fostering children’s interest in books through puppet theater performances based on fairy tales.

“Grandmother’s Testament” Project

This project is organized with the aim of guiding the younger generation in education and science, as well as teaching them the customs, traditions, and rituals of the Kazakh people passed down from ancient times. The project runs throughout the year.

Child Therapy Project

The Regional Children’s Library provides adolescents with opportunities to spend their free time effectively and to promote proper mental development in an era of reduced physical activity. Activities include drawing, sand therapy, watching local fairy tales via LED screens, sculpture therapy, creating various handmade items, and other similar activities.

Reader Parent” Club

The “Reader Parent” Club of the Regional Children’s Library is held with the participation of the library’s parents. Throughout the year, club members read various works and discuss them together.

Dombra Club

This club is aimed at introducing children to national arts, developing their spiritual and cultural awareness, and helping them spend their free time in the library usefully and meaningfully. All readers of our library are welcome to participate. During the lessons, participants learn the basic principles of playing the dombra and study traditional Kazakh melodies and songs. The club is free of charge, meets twice a week, and sessions last one hour. It is designed to enhance children’s creativity and cultivate an interest in national values.

Master Hands Club

This is a creative club for readers interested in handicrafts. Students aged 11–15 can participate in the club. During the lessons, participants get acquainted with various handicraft techniques and learn to create beautiful and useful items with their own hands. The club meets twice a month. It is designed to develop children’s creativity, attentiveness, and imagination.

Chess Club

Highly skilled and experienced teachers provide professional-level lessons to students in the field of chess. The club operates based on intellectual training and meets twice a week, from morning until evening. During the lessons, participants not only learn the basic rules of chess but also perform exercises aimed at developing logical thinking, strategic planning, and concentration. In addition, preparation for tournaments is conducted, and individualized methods are applied according to each student’s level.
